This is a brief visual tutorial of the registration, download and installation of the maps.

PRE-REQUISITES

Proyecto Mapear maps are designed to work with GARMIN branded GPS units. To use the maps you need to have installed Mapsource, it usually comes bundled in a CD with your GPS, please check Garmin page for updates.

If you don't have Mapsource discs handy (forgot them at home?) you may try doing the following:

1) Go to: Training Center download page and install it.

2) During installation, after installing the drivers, it will require to plug your GPS Unit to the PC.

3) Go to: Mapsource download page and install it.

4) Cross your fingers and launch Mapsource, if it starts OK, close it please, you will be prompted to launch it again later in the tutorial

So, this is it, it wasn't that difficult right?

Depending on your type of connection and GPS unit this can take from 5 minutes to eternity (more than 2 hours for a serial/RS232 connection) so sit back, relax and enjoy the view :D
